[RUME] Position at Eastern Connecticut State University

Eastern Connecticut State University, Connecticut's Public Liberal Arts
University, welcomes applications for a tenure-track position in the
Mathematics and Computer Science Department at the level of Assistant or
Associate Professor.  Eastern is located in Willimantic, Connecticut, a
lively town that is becoming an arts and cultural center of northeastern
Connecticut.  Eastern has a student population of just over 5000
students, and in the last ten years has seen completion of a new
library, science building (where the Mathematics and Computer Science
Department is located), child and family development center, and
residential housing.

 

Successful candidates should have an interest in non-traditional
approaches to mathematics instruction including the use of technology
and cooperative learning.  Candidates' research interests should be
aligned with curriculum development (particularly in developmental
mathematics), assessment, or retention. This position includes some
administrative duties in our new and innovative Mathematics Achievement
Center in addition to teaching.  Teaching assignments include some
developmental mathematics courses.  Qualifications for the position
include a Ph.D. (or E.D.D.) in mathematics or mathematics education
(with significant coursework in graduate level mathematics), or related
field preferred; ABD considered.  A B.A. or B.S. in mathematics is
required.
