[RUME] Elementary Algebra Concept Inventory

An application to NSF is about to go in, seeking funding for the 
development and validation of an
Elementary Algebra Concept Inventory (EACI). This is a follow-up to the 
three year project
developing and validating the Calculus Concept Inventory (CCI). We seek 
two things:
1. Pilot test sites, who will be able to give the first pilot form of 
the test to a reasonable size sample of students taking algebra I (in 
high school or coillege) in the Fall semester of 2009.
2. One or two persons who will serve on the advisory and item-writing 
panel for this project. Most work on the project can be done from your 
home base, but once a year for the first two years the panel will meet 
in New York. All expenses of the trip to NY will be paid by the grant 
(if we are funded) and a modest honorarium will be paid.  We seek 
persons with a modest documentable background in test development 
investigation of algebraic thinking and problem solving, and some 
experience considering at your home institution the actual comprehension 
of students in the most basic principles of algebra. Interested persons
