CULMS: Community for Undergraduate Learning in the Mathematical Sciences

We are delighted to announce the formation of this new centre for  
research into, and development of, best practice in undergraduate  
teaching and learning in the mathematical sciences. It is based at The  
University of Auckland, and involves members of the three Departments  
of Engineering Science, Mathematics, and Statistics, plus input from  
the Faculty of Education and the Academic Practice Unit.
While aiming to enhance practice and enlarge our research base in the  
area at this university, the centre has an international outlook, with  
current and planned research projects including involvement of Prof  
Alan Schoenfeld (UCBerkeley), Dr Tim Rowlands, (Cambridge University,  
UK), Prof Ferdinando Arzarello (Turin University), Prof Prof Barbara  
Jaworski (Loughborough University) and Dr Elena Nardi (University of  
East Anglia). It also the hosts the administration of the Klein Project.
We welcome expressions of interest from people wishing to visit the  
centre or have some involvement with it.
