Re: [ARUME] Report of the ARUME Nominating Committee -- the Slate
Dear Annie and all ARUME members,
I was truly embarrassed and quite astonished as I read my e-mail this
morning. In particular, I was quite surprised to find that I sent a
message which I did not know I sent and which I had not finished writing or
revising. The message was barely comprehensible and lacked considerable
coherence. I want to apologize to Annie and the rest of the ARUME members
for that half-witted message.
Yesterday, as I was composing and revising a message back to Annie Selden
(although I had not yet switched the send-to line after I hit reply) a
student walked into my office to discuss his grades. I quickly switched
over from my Eudora and to my grading program. Unfortunately, some how I
must have queued the message in the switch over and my machine
automatically sent it. I was so surprised to read my incoherence this
morning "There is only one statement from nominees for secretary/treasurer
nut it is not indicated who's statement that is. Is there a reason for
this?" Although I find it somewhat embarrassingly humorous that I wrote
such a ridiculous message which was sent not just to Annie but to the
entire ARUME listserv, I want to apologize for the message. The statement
"secretary/treasurer nut" is not how I feel about the position but was a
result of the incomplete revision and the disoriented message is certainly
not how I typically write. As a result, I want to apologize first to Annie
and then to the entire ARUME community for such a absurd message.
Sincerely,
David
