All,
I'm pleased to make a few announcements:
1) The 2015 Best Paper award from the SIGMAA on RUME annual conference goes
to Paul Dawkins and John Paul Cook for their paper:
Guiding reinvention of conventional tools of mathematical logic: Students’
reasoning about mathematical disjunctions
Three other papers were very strong and received consideration for the
award:
a) Dov Zazkis, Keith Weber, and Pablo Mejia-Ramos for their paper: How do
mathematics majors translate informal arguments into formal proofs
b) Surani Joshua, Stacy Musgrave, Neil Hatfield and Patrick Thompson for
their paper: Conceptualizing and reasoning with frames of reference
c) Annie Selden and John Selden for their paper: A perspective for
university students’ proof construction
2) You can find these four papers at the beginning of the 2015 RUME
Conference Proceedings. In addition, you can find copies of all other
accepted long papers, and all of the conference proposals. You can find
them either by navigating to the SIGMAA on RUME webpage and clicking on the
Proceedings link.
Or, you can follow he direct link:

3) In the proceedings you'll also find a list of the attendees, program
committee, and people that reviewed papers and proposals.
Finally, as we've wrapped up all of our work from the 2015 conference, I
want to give my personal thanks to the program committee, they reviewed
numerous papers, helped shape our work, and served as an invaluable
resource to me and the organization. They were:
Jason Belnap, Stacy Brown, Estrella Johnson, Karen Keene, Elise Lockwood,
Ami Mamolo, Jason Martin, Mike Oehrtman, Kyeong Hah Roh, Vicki Sealey,
Craig Swinyard, Megan Wawro, Keith Weber, Aaron Weinberg, and Michelle
Zandieh
Lastly, Nicole Engelke was the local organizer. That means she was
responsible for anything related to the venue, staffing, and more. With
help from the faculty and students of West Virginia University we had an
amazing conference. It's impossible to overstate how the contribution of
Nicole and the West Virginia team.
Thank you all,
Tim Fukawa-Connelly
